Given he goes so well fresh it isn’t certain that SEVEN BROTHERS will be in the same form as when beating 17 rivals over C&D on last month’s return. That said, the form has been well advertised since and a 1lb rise is far from punitive. He could enjoy a tactical advantage too. Farhh To Shy is capable of better this year but she has an absence to contend with and Tommy De Vito (second choice) looks pick of the rest.
True Statesman shaped nicely on his Nottingham debut and is open to improvement but he is likely to be better suited by 6f when the time comes. He sets a fair standard but all four newcomers make some appeal on paper and LADY BULLET may be able to make a winning start to her career.
Ardbraccan (second choice) should go well upped to 1m on her reappearance but PAPA COCKTAIL returns to action with his stable in tremendous form and he can come out on top. Cephalus has much more on his plate than when making hay on the AW over the winter and handicap newcomer Barley is feared more.
Royal Pleasure is unexposed at the trip and did win decisively at Chelmsford when last seen but this is tougher and he isn’t the easiest of conveyances. Intrinsic Bond (second choice) couldn’t justify support last week but he travelled well enough to think he would be exploiting his mark soon. COMMANCHE FALLS will have bigger targets on his horizon but last season’s Stewards’ Cup hero has a fine record fresh and this looks less demanding than he is used to. He can further enhance his fine strike-rate.

Flying Secret is better than he was able to show at Epsom on his reappearance but this looks a good opportunity for LIR SPECIALE to get off the mark after two promising AW runs.
A small field but a few runners are of note, including Irish raider Sweet Will (second choice). Gavin Cromwell’s 5yo has clicked over jumps in recent weeks and there was some promise in three quick Flat runs back in the summer of 2020. Flint Hill and Zoffee have also been in jumping action since their last Flat run and the latter starts out for Hugo Palmer off a potentially handy mark. REVEREND HUBERT (nap) relished stepping up to 2m at Chelmsford on his reappearance, though, and he can progress further as a stayer.

A tight handicap. With the benefit of a run and one that he probably needed, CHOIRMASTER is preferred over Swoon and Sea King. Both Newmarket raiders are open to further improvement this season. Charles St is up in class for his handicap debut but he might be well treated.
