Compelling recent form is in short supply. Ranger Bob, Parikarma and International Law (second choice) can all feature but IT’S A LOVE THING has had excuses since his Wolverhampton win in February and could prove the answer.

17:35 – Lysander
A fascinating novice event in which some interesting Newmarket raiders take their chance. Francesco Clemente looked a very promising sort when surging to the front in the Wood Ditton and this trip should bring about further progress. He’s greatly respected but LYSANDER‘s debut was also full of encouragement and he may be able to capitalise on the weight he receives from the previous winner. He travelled like a very good horse at Newbury on his debut but was hemmed in at a crucial stage before being unable to quite pick up well enough in very testing ground. He can leave that well behind him this year. Sonnerie Power is also open to improvement while Capstan is a newcomer of some note too.
18:10 – Peter The Great
A good-quality event but not sure to be truly run. Harswell Duke might get the run of things but he doesn’t look obviously well handicapped so much could depend on how well Newmarket raiders PETER THE GREAT and Possible Man (second choice) settle. Things haven’t gone to plan in two handicap runs for the selection but his early promise hasn’t been forgotten just yet.

18:45 – Golden Voice
Both Islay Of Anglesey and Topomania (second choice) are bred to be above average and the betting should provide clues on their debut. GOLDEN VOICE showed enough in his two runs last year to think he would be winning races and this looks a good starting point.
19:20 – Bellagio Man
King’s Knight won emphatically at Wolverhampton ten days ago and looks well in under a penalty on the face of it but he was well positioned in a steadily run event and fourth-placed Society Lion actually ran the final four furlongs slightly quicker. He may well follow up but at the likely odds it is tempting to find an alternative. BELLAGIO MAN still isn’t fully exposed and his latest run at Southwell offered hope of better.

19:55 – Main Target (NAP)
Redzone was on a roll when last seen and he could progress further this year. Unashamed comes here on the back of two solid turf runs, while Ginato (second choice) will appreciate coming back here and Spice Store caught the eye at Thirsk. There are strong grounds for expecting better from MAIN TARGET (nap) today though and he can show the benefit of a recent gelding operation.
20:30 – Blackcurrent
Some familiar faces, many of whom save their best for this track. Joshua R (second choice) deserved his win last time and can go well but BLACKCURRENT may prove the answer after a good run at Chelmsford a fortnight ago. Antony Brittain’s pair Another Angel and Mutabaahy both have something to recommend them too.
