Karl Burke’s filly was collared late on at Newmarket on her debut 15 days ago but the speed she showed there, allied to her previous experience, should stand her in very good stead today.

There is no doubt that Love Your Work has been in sparkling form all year, firstly on Tapeta and then on turf lately. A 5lb penalty for his recent Beverley success isn’t the end of the world, but he would have a question to answer if the ground remains quick. There are no such doubts over WHATWOULDYOUKNOW, however, and he is back off the same mark as when last successful. Carrigillihy could be given a chance if settling better than on his reappearance.

Half of the field come here with plenty to prove and with Tangled returning from an absence and Eilean Dubh untested on anything faster than good, YANIFER (nap) may well be the answer. He got tired late on when fifth on his recent stable debut but he should be sharper now and could also enjoy a tactical advantage in this line-up.

Leap Abroad (second choice) is on the up and should give it another good go, with Hooked On You a likely danger if handling the forecast quicker ground. THE MENSTONE GEM is an interesting candidate on his stable debut, though, and he could find that a well-run 6f proves right up his street.

Having shown ability on his debut in a warm Newmarket novice, Missed The Cut looks to have a future but dropping 2f in trip may not be ideal, even on this track, so AL BAAHY is preferred. He showed ability for Sir Michael Stoute last year and should appreciate this extra furlong on his debut for his new yard.

A big field but not many come here at the top of their game. Willing To Please, Odd Socks Havana, Divine Connection, Iron Sheriff and Krystal Maze (second choice) have something to recommend them but OTTO OYL finally clicked at Southwell on his return and may be able to defy a small rise in the weights.
