15:40 – Party Central
Dinoblue heads the market after two recent runs at Cheltenham and Fairyhouse but was a beaten favourite both times. Gordon Elliott’s Party Central can be better judged on her wins at Leopardstown and Punchestown earlier this season on decent ground. She is a bit of value to upset the likely market leader Dinoblue again.

16:15 – Dysart Dynamo
Sir Gerhard looked good on soft ground when winning the Ballymore Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival but let’s not forget he was beaten in a bumper at this meeting last year when a very short-priced favourite. His stablemate Dysart Dynamo won at this meeting last year as he is still unexposed. He fell three out when in the lead in the Supreme Novices Hurdle that Constitution Hill won and is worth another chance at the prices.
16:50 – Gua Du Large (each-way)
Glan ran out a tidy winner of a valuable handicap at Fairyhouse 10 days ago and will be among the market leaders to go close again despite a 7lb hike in the ratings. Her stablemate Eskylane was fifth that day, but carries top weight in this contest.
Rachel Blackmore rides Gua Du Large who was 13th in the Country Hurdle at Cheltenham in March but beat Glan by a neck at Fairyhouse before that, last November, giving her 7lbs. The Henry De Bromhead runner only has to concede 3lbs to her now and looks a good each-way play at their respective prices.

17:25 – Energumene
The reigning Champion Chaser Energumene looks hard to oppose as was very impressive at Cheltenham – even if Shishkin had an off day. Followers of his stablemate Chacun Pour Soi (who unseated Patrick Mullins at Cheltenham in the Champion Chase) will feel they have a chance on home soil as he performs much better In Ireland than when travelling to the UK.
18:00 – Caldwell Potter
A feature of the Punchestown Festival is the number of National Hunt Flat races or ‘bumpers’ and the powerhouse stables usually keep their best for them. The Gordon Elliott-trained Caldwell Potter cost €200,000 at the sales as a three-year-old and is related to novice hurdler Might Potter, who carries the same colours. Jamie Codd rides and that’s a positive but keep a close eye on the market as that’s usually a very good guide to what’s expected of these, mainly unraced, four-year-olds.

18:35 – Bob Olinger
One of the big talking horses of the season, Bob Olinger was about to be well and truly put in his place at Cheltenham before Galopin Des Champs tipped up at the last to gift him victory. However, connections feel he underperformed tat day and have ironed out the problem. He could be a steal at the prices on good ground with no Galopin Des Champs around. He’s still unbeaten in his career on the racecourse don’t forget.
19:10 – De Nordener
Another feature of Punchestown in the Cross Copuntry and ‘banks’ race and Enda Bolger is the king of them. Top amateur jockey Derek O Connor booked to ride De Nordener in the JP McManus silks and that combination will do for me as he chases a hat-trick.
19:45 – Lisnagar Fortune
Another four-year-old bumper closes the card and pay close attention to the market again. Willie Mullins’ Lisnagar Fortune will be ridden by his son Patrick and he shouldn’t be too far away if the market speaks in his favour.
