Horse Racing Tips: Timeform’s 7 fine fancies at Lingfield on Monday

Timeform's boffins run the rule over Monday's seven-race card.

13:05 – Way of Life

This looks a good race for the grade but WAY OF LIFE is fancied to complete a four-timer. He was a course and distance winner in December and picked up where he left off when winning at Wolverhampton 13 days ago after a short break, displaying a nice turn of foot to settle the race nicely. He has been raised further in the weights but looks better than ever right now. Reeceltic also won last time and is feared, along with Psyche on reappearance.

13:35 – Glorious Romance

Quite an open and interesting race despite the small field and GLORIOUS ROMANCE is taken to build on her promising debut at Kempton earlier this month. She is a well-related filly and shaped well while looking in much need of the experience, threatening briefly in the straight but not at all given a hard time. She should make significant improvement after that initial experience and represents a yard whose horses always take a step forward from their debut run. Sassi Neri was a place in front of her on that occasion and looks the danger with more improvement to come herself.

14:05 – Goldsmith

This doesn’t look the strongest race of its type and GOLDSMITH is a strong fancy to build on his promising return to action at Kempton earlier this month. That was a strong race for the grade and he was well found in the market, able to step up on what he’d shown in maidens last season despite being left with a lot to do. He goes in a first-time hood now for a yard in form and he is very interesting from his current mark. Storm Asset and Away Wit Da Fairys are more exposed but still look the chief threats. 

14:40 – Secret Glow

SECRET GLOW raised his game further when scoring over course and distance last month and should have more to offer. He had fallen in the weights and seemed liberated after a break, matching the pick of his earlier form, and proving well suited by the return to a mile. He remains unexposed at this trip and another bold bid is expected. Umneyaat looks the chief threat to Heather Main’s four-year-old having done too much in front when only fifth on his debut for George Boughey earlier in the month.

    15:15 – Go Razzmatazz

    GO RAZZMATAZZ showed fair form when trained in Ireland but surpassed that straight away when making a winning debut for this yard at Bath 11 days ago, helped by being held up in a race where the pacesetters went off too hard, but still looking a fair bit ahead of his mark. A subsequent 5 lb rise looks fair enough and he could well follow up with a good 3 lb claimer booked. Tiare was disappointing at Windsor but could easily get back on track returned to the all-weather.

    15:50 – Monsieur Patat

    MONSIEUR PATAT couldn’t lay a glove on the winner at Windsor a fortnight ago but it was still another sound effort, and he was a good winner over course and distance on his previous start. He remains well enough treated on the pick of his old form and he is taken to regain the winning thread back on the all-weather. Gigi’s Beach should go close under his penalty with Dutugamunu also of interest.

    16:20 – Blue Flame

    BLUE FLAME has recorded both of his wins at this trip and got back on the up at Wolverhampton last time in good style. He wasn’t fully extended for that success and this lightly-raced five-year-old looks well in turned out under a 5 lb penalty. Dourado’s losing streak stretches back to 2017 but he is certainly weighted to be bang there.
