17:45 – Soyounique (NAP)

The six-time course winner Peachey Carnehan should make his presence felt off a favourable mark, but preference is for SOYOUNIQUE (nap). The 5yo didn’t run very well over 6f at Lingfield on Wednesday but should be suited by the return to this longer trip. Tell’em Nowt, Creek Harbour and Defilade have either dropped to their last winning mark or just below it, so are worth a second look on that score.

18:20 – Desert Team

Money for the nicely bred newcomer Imperial Khan should be noted. DESERT TEAM has some of the best form and should be suited by this return to the minimum trip.

18:50 – Pilot Wings

Despite a 4lb rise for his recent C&D success PILOT WINGS is still on a feasible mark and at least he comes into this in form. There shouldn’t be much between him and the runner-up Quoteline Direct on these revised terms, but the latter’s profile suggests he is by no means certain to fare any better, so the best alternative may be Toybox who has slipped to a favourable mark and should be all the better for last month’s return.

19:20 – Scarborough Castle

It wouldn’t be a surprise were either Taqseemaat or Morning Symphony to show a bit more now handicapping, but SCARBOROUGH CASTLE has proved so consistent on the AW since joining David Simcock and he should appreciate this return to Tapeta. The Resdev Way comes into this on the back of a C&D win, but hasn’t won a non-amateurs’ event in almost three years.

19:50 – Pistoletto

Goolwa and Chai Yo Power looked progressive last season and may still have more to offer. Of the pair, the former is preferred as she is proven fresh but this may go to PISTOLETTO whose fitness is guaranteed. He takes some knowing, but this contest may well suit him with five of his six wins coming in single-figure fields.

20:20 – Equion

The return to these conditions should be of benefit to C&D winner Alazwar who is respected despite his penalty, but EQUION is preferred having taken a huge step up from his debut when third here last time. That form is working out well. Warm Smile has been given a break since a disappointing run here when last seen, but would have a chance on her debut effort.

20:50 – Prydwen

With doubts about all of his rivals, hat-trick seeker PRYDWEN should take the beating, having been raised a lenient-looking 4lb for last week’s Lingfield success. Today’s trip is a possible concern for Baby Steps, Eloso, Sophosc and the unexposed Ciotog, so perhaps course regular Harbour Vision will prove the chief danger.
