Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets…
13:30 Perth – Ask Paddington (Daily Post, Mercury)
ASK PADDINGTON has struggled on his four starts for this yard, the first his chase debut then back over hurdles on his last three outings (soft/good to soft). However, all of his best form has come on good ground so the drying conditions are in his favour, and he’s well handicapped. Very interesting after a break.
15:05 Beverley – The Smull (Steve Mullington)
THE SMULL failed to progress at two for Sheila Lavery in Ireland, finishing well held in 5.5f Navan nursery on final start. New stable is in good form so he’s certainly worth a look on his return to action.
15:40 Beverley – Le Bayou (Racing Ahead, Ben Morgan)
LE BAYOU’s sole win came over C&D last summer but he’s yet to fire in two AW runs in 2022. The blinkers go back on and he’s got something to prove.
16:25 Tipperary – New York Dreams (The Irish Field, Rory Delargy)
NEW YORK DREAMS seems to have improved for being gelded over the winter. Built on fair comeback at Naas when caught close to home over 6f (yielding) at the Curragh. Showed plenty of pace that day so 5f should be fine. A visor replaces cheekpieces.
