14:00 – Imperial Ruler

Imperial Ruler won his only start in bumpers in May last year and he shaped with encouragement on his debut over hurdles at Down Royal last month, finishing runner-up. Imperial Ruler looks sure to improve for that experience and can go one better here.

14:35 – Womalko

This is a competitive handicap hurdle but Womalko is going the right way and gets the nod. He only just failed to reward good support when runner-up at Cork in December but he gained some compensation at Limerick later in the month, scoring with plenty in hand after looming up early in the straight. Womalko was hit with a 12 lb rise in the weights for that comfortable victory but he produced his best effort yet on the figures to finish runner-up at Down Royal last month, just paying the price for his early exuberance. He is still improving and remains fairly treated after edging up another 2 lb.

15:10 – Love Envoi

Love Envoi took her unbeaten record to six when landing the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last month and that performance marks her out as the one to beat – she is at least 6 lb clear of these rivals on Timeforms ratings. Love Envoi impressed with how she went through the race at Cheltenham, leading on the bridle entering the straight and always looking in control after being shaken up on the run-in. That effort was over 17 furlongs but Love Envoi had previously shown her stamina for this trip when winning a Grade 2 over two and a half miles at Sandown on testing ground.

15:45 – The Dara Man

The Dara Man showed he’s a better chaser than hurdler when landing a novice handicap at Limerick on his return last month, impressing with his fluent jumping and how enthusiastically he travelled. He shaped as if still in good form when a distant runner-up back over hurdles at Ballinrobe last week and he will benefit from going back over fences and stepping up in trip. He remains relatively unexposed over fences and capable of better in this sphere.

16:20 – Buddy Rich

Buddy Rich has taken well to chasing this season and, following four good runner-up efforts, he gained a deserved success in maiden company at Navan in November. Buddy Rich looked set to follow up on his handicap debut over this course and distance a few weeks later as he loomed up travelling powerfully at the second-last and was still upsides approaching the final fence, but he found less than had looked likely and weakened into fourth. The way Buddy Rich went through that contest suggests he’s on a decent mark, and he is worth another chance on his return from a break.

16:55 – Galopin Des Champs

Galopin Des Champs progressed rapidly towards the end of his novice hurdle campaign last season, winning the Martin Pipe at the Cheltenham Festival before landing a Grade 1 at Punchestown, and he has looked like an outstanding prospect since going chasing. Galopin Des Champs was flawless on his chasing debut at Leopardstown and he was also impressive in Grade 1 company at the same course at the Dublin Racing Festival. He would have registered another wide-margin win had he not fallen at the final fence with the race at his mercy in the Turners Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and this top-notch talent can gain compensation here.

17:25 – Instant Tendance

Instant Tendance makes appeal starting out for Gordon Elliott. A €125,000 purchase as a three-year-old, Instant Tendance is a half-sister to Good Risk At All, who was one of the leading bumper performers in Britain last season and has since developed into a useful hurdler. Instant Tendance will also have the assistance of Jamie Codd in the saddle.
