Brandy Love wears a hood but you couldn’t back her after what she did here in the Solerina in January. There didn’t appear to be any fluke about Love Envoi’s win in the Mares’ Novice and she is proven over two and a half miles also. Harry Fry won this in 2015 with Bitofapuzzle and I think he has strong claims of winning it again. Stepping up in trip, Love Envoi is the one to beat and I think she’ll take a bit of beating, too.
Poseidon is the one I like. Heavy ground in the Grand Annual probably didn’t suit and getting on better ground here is a plus. He bolted up in Cork in October off 130, he’s only rated 7lbs higher, and Grange Walk has franked that form in the interim. If there’s a few bob floating around on him to show his wellbeing I’ll be following that with interest.
Can’t oppose Galopin Des Champs but he is too short for a bet. I’d be very keen on Master McShee, who wears a tongue tie for the first time, and would like him in the betting without market. Just found the 2m at Navan a touch sharp last time and will be much more comfortable back up to this 2m4f trip.
