Horse Racing tips: A 7/1 play leads the way at Lingfield today

Having won over C&D a fortnight ago, Rivas Rob Roy comes into this in better form than most so is considered despite the return to better company, but it may be worth taking a chance with DUTUGAMUNU. A dual C&D winner, he has dropped 6lb lower than when last successful and has hinted at better to come on a couple of occasions since joining Lee Carter. One Step Beyond is off a fair mark if bouncing back, while the maiden Charming Paradise is less exposed than his rivals and should appreciate the return to this trip.

16:55 – Alablaq

There could be a good pace on with Cool Spirit and Pablo Del Pueblo renewing rivalry, though they could do without going off as fast as they did here last time where they ruined each other’s chance. They have the ability to figure given a kinder trip, but this can go to ALABLAQ (nap) who is off the same mark as when gaining his only success (over C&D in January) and drops into a 0-70 for the first time. If they do go a good pace up front, that would be to the benefit of Soyounique.

17:30 – Knebworth

Those to have run haven’t exactly set the world alight, though their experience is an advantage and both Knowwhatimeanharry and Cloud Flyer should find this company a bit easier. There are some interesting newcomers up against them including KNEBWORTH whose sire has a good record here and the stable had a 2yo winner first time out at Windsor last week. Rock Girl comes from a yard that did well with its 2yos last year and she is also worth monitoring in the market.

18:00 – Cappananty Con

This can go to CAPPANANTY CON whose nine wins have all come over shorter, but he hasn’t been seen much over this trip and finished a close second over C&D on his penultimate start before an even narrower defeat back over 6f here. Patontheback is respected on this return to the AW, as is Run Forrest Run who is back off his last winning mark.

18:30 – Touchwood

A tight little handicap in which there may not be much pace on and that should be to the advantage of TOUCHWOOD and Abduction. Preference is for the former who has gone well fresh before and is just 2lb higher than when last seen winning at Kempton in October. Dual course winner Mamillius is another to consider, as is Algheed who ran well here on Friday.

19:00 – Miss Sligo

Of those most favoured on these terms, Lake Sand and Violet’s Lads make the shortlist having run well lately, but it’s hard to get away from MISS SLIGO in her current mood. Her two recent wins have been over 1m4f but the return to this trip shouldn’t be a problem in her bid for a hat-trick.

19:30 – Forge Valley Lad

With stamina doubts lingering over Dance At Night, this may be left to FORGE VALLEY LAD who has been consistent since returning in the autumn and was narrowly beaten over C&D last time. Prydwen and Golden Valour are worth monitoring in the market on their return to action, with the latter particularly interesting given his sire’s record here.
