IMPERIAL FIGHTER achieved a useful level of form in four starts as a two-year-old, producing one of his better efforts when passing the post only two lengths behind the exciting Coroebus in the Autumn Stakes at Newmarket in October. That form comfortably sets the standard in this line-up and Imperial Fighter could well improve again as a three-year-old. Therefore, this looks a good opportunity for him to make a winning reappearance before stepping back up in grade.
14:00 – My Oberon
MY OBERON wasn’t far off his best when sixth in the Dubai Turf at Meydan last time, sticking to his task well to be beaten only four and a half lengths. This represents a significant drop in grade and he showed his liking for the tapeta with a comfortable win at Southwell in February. That qualified him for this contest and he rates very much the one to beat here if his subsequent trip to Dubai hasn’t taken the edge off him.

14:35 – Ejtilaab
EJTILAAB produced a big career best when successful on his latest outing at Kempton, making all to win by two and a half lengths with plenty in hand. He is a previous winner over this course and distance and trainer Charlie Fellowes continues in top form with six winners from his last 26 runners. Ejtilaab certainly has plenty in his favour and a repeat of his latest effort at Kempton should put him right in the mix here.
15:10 – Tiber Flow
TIBER FLOW maintained his unbeaten record with a ready success at Southwell last month, only winning by half a length but looking value for extra after being caught further back than ideal in a steadily-run race. The speed he showed there suggests the drop back to six furlongs here won’t be an issue and it’s highly unlikely that we’ve seen the best of him yet after just three starts. A smart prospect, he is fancied to extend his winning sequence before going on to bigger and better things.

15:45 – Highfield Princess
HIGHFIELD PRINCESS got back on track when filling the runner-up spot at Wolverhampton last time, running on well over an insufficient trip to be beaten just half a length. That suggests she retains all her ability and it’s worth remembering how well she progressed in 2021, notably winning the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. The return to seven furlongs here will be in her favour and she seems sure to be thereabouts if running up to her best.

16:15 – Sleeping Lion
SLEEPING LION has a terrific record on the all-weather and he well on top at the finish when resuming winning ways on his latest outing at Kempton in February, just needing to be kept up to his work to land the spoils by a length and a quarter in comfortable fashion. He had a couple of today’s rivals behind him on that occasion and this useful performer appeals as the most solid option again in a wide-open contest.
16:45 – Tyrrhenian Sea
TYRRHENIAN SEA forfeited his unbeaten record when only fourth at Kempton last time, but that doesn’t tell the whole story as he was arguably unlucky not to win, passing the post less than half a length behind the winner despite not getting a clear run in the straight. He finished with running left and there is little doubt that he has a bigger effort in the locker when everything falls right. With a bit more luck today, he can make it four from five in his career before testing the waters in some better races on turf.
