13:30 Cheltenham – Captain Morgs (Racing Ahead, Ben Morgan)

CAPTAIN MORGS was granted a break since his disappointing Kempton run over Christmas but it had been a solid season up until then, with good runs here and at Newbury flanking his defeat of eight rivals at Ascot. Trip/ground fine.

13:40 Beverley – Loudspeaker (Morning Star, Farringdon)

LOUDSPEAKER has fair form in an AW maiden and two AW novices at up to 8.5f last term. Quite interesting up in trip on turf/handicap debut.

14:50 Beverley – Roundhay Park (Steve Mullington)

ROUNDHAY PARK is operating at a level a rung below his very best but he recorded wins at Doncaster (6f, soft) and Chester (7f, good) last season. Has gone well fresh in the past but he will need them to go very hard up front if he’s to take this dropped back to a bare 5f for the first time since October 2019.

15:15 Cheltenham – Champagnesuperover (Daily Post, Mercury)

CHAMPAGNESUPEROVER was a useful novice hurdler last season and finished mid-division in the Albert Bartlett here at the Festival. Beaten in his first four chases but behind smart opposition and it was good to see him get the job done at Catterick, for all that it was only a match. Never did himself justice in his only previous handicap (hampered early) and looks on a decent mark.
