Mystical Clouds beat an in-form rival to win off a reduced mark at Newcastle last month and remains very well handicapped on older form but preference is for class-dropper SLATE HOUSE, who ran well for a long way when sixth in a hot Cheltenham handicap last month and now returns to the scene of his Grade 1 win. Doukarov should also feature, while dual C&D winner Rockstar Ronnie will be dangerous if able to bounce back from last month’s below-par run.

18:40 Dorking Boy (NAP)

Jay Bee Why and DORKING BOY (nap) both ran well in a competitive race over C&D last month and may end up fighting this out. Dorking Boy has over 2l to find on that form but he ended up on the wide outside when bidding to make ground on the home turn, so his performance can be upgraded and he gets the nod today. Valleres has more to prove but he reverts to hurdling on a very tempting mark.

19:10 Generator City

Ofalltheginjoints has a touch of class about him and could be far too good for this field if on a going day but he has become very inconsistent and ready preference is for GENERATOR CITY, who fell on his recent stable debut but is a strong contender if judged on his autumn form.

19:40 Capitaine

Gesskille made a very good start to his British career at Ludlow last month and is an obvious one to consider here but his ability to cope with ground quicker than soft has to be taken on trust. Last-time-out Leicester winner CAPITAINE is sure to be very well suited by today’s conditions and is preferred.
