With the forecast sound surface very much in their favour, the similar types GET BACK GET BACK and Thahab Ifraj may well fill the first two places, in that order. Mack The Man would be a serious threat granted a revival.

There are doubts about all three runners and the safest option could be Market Rasen winner SHIROCCAN ROLL, who is returning from a break following a below-par run in December. Chase debutant Wicked West may prove his main threat.

Nickelsonthedime has possibilities in first-time cheekpieces and Mr Tambourine Man is well treated on his peak form, while Moot Court and Walk Away Now are open to improvement. However, the most solid option is WETANWINDY (nap) who has shown sound progress since switched to handicaps and may well have more to offer. Moot Court is tentative second choice.

Evidently saved for spring conditions having been absent since his fast-ground success in December, SAN AGUSTIN could well follow up in the retained cheekpieces. Second choice is Normandy Soldier, who won over C&D in November. Calarules and One For Dunstan are well treated on their best hurdles form.

16:50 – Johnny B

Having posted a very solid effort over C&D on his most recent attempt over hurdles, JOHNNY B could well open his account off a workable mark. Second choice is the in-form Trixster, ahead of well-treated Mason Jar and class-dropper Danny Whizzbang.

17:20 – Twig

Progressive pointer TWIG is a promising sort for hunter chases and may prove too hot-footed for these exposed veteran rivals. His form stacks up quite well and he’s very interesting. West Approach (second choice) and Rolling Dylan look the biggest dangers on recent form, though Wotzizname is suited by this track and could go well.
