And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

SWITCH HITTER is 2-5 over hurdles last season and made winning chase debut in three-runner race at Hereford (3m1f, good) in November. Had to settle for second in another small-field event at Hereford (2m5f, good) two months ago but still has potential.
14:45 Leicester – Watermelon Sugar (Steve Mullington)
WATERMELON SUGAR overcame early trouble to make a winning debut in Wolverhampton maiden (6f, AW) five weeks ago, leading inside the last half-furlong. Open to progress and warrants respect under 4lb penalty switched to selling grade.
16:05 Ayr – Get A Tonic (Daily Post, Mercury)
GET A TONIC has two minor wins towards the end of last year and she’s been runner-up in Listed mares’ races the last twice at Warwick (2m5f, good to soft) and Doncaster (3m, soft). Solid claims now tackling her first handicap.
16:50 Newbury – Arthur’s Seat (Racing Ahead, Ben Morgan)
ARTHUR’S SEAT is a dual bumper winner and best display yet over hurdles when runner-up at Ayr last month. That was over 2m3f+ and he’s yet to go beyond that but enters the reckoning if he stays this trip.
