13:00 – Cheeky Maxi

Jiffy Boy and Evolicatt command respect, having gained some valuable experience in the Brocklesby six days ago. Some of the newcomers are interesting, notably CHEEKY MAXI whose connections won the Brocklesby with smart prospect Persian Force and whose trainer won this race last year with that colt’s brother. Camacho Star and Strength ‘n Honour are also on the shortlist.

13:35 – Ventura Rascal

Several runners are open to further improvement and picking the likely winner isn’t easy. Tentative preference is for VENTURA RASCAL, with Hover second choice. Dark Spec and Helm Rock are set for an interesting rematch, while Grangeclare View needs a close look returned to turf.

14:10 – Naranco

Impressive Haydock winner Tanmawwy is interesting on his return from a 19-month absence, especially if the market speaks in his favour. As regards the remainder, NARANCO and Taratari are big players in that order of preference, while Marsoul looks best of the newcomers.

14:45 – Profit And Loss

Considering that Watermelon Sugar was good enough to win a maiden first time out, this drop to selling level is a tad perturbing but he still commands respect. Based on peak form, PROFIT AND LOSS has a good chance of opening his account on these terms, while Bungle Bay and Rhinoplasty are also major players on the figures.

15:20 – Sea Sylph

The most interesting contenders are SEA SYLPH and Noman, who both remain open to further improvement. Slight preference is for Sea Sylph, who drops back in class on her debut for Alan King. Resumption and King Viktor may prove best of the remainder.

15:55 – March Moon

Juan Bermudez ran to a fairly useful level when winning gamely on soft ground at Newmarket in the autumn and will be a tough nut to crack if suited by this different trip and ground combination. However, MARCH MOON moved into contention quite stylishly when third at Newcastle on his second start and he can probably improve again.

16:25 – Encouraged (nap)

Last year’s spell in Hong Kong didn’t go to plan, but ENCOURAGED (nap) made a very promising stable debut when placed at Kempton last month and, after only seven starts overall, he still has potential. He gets the vote ahead of Outrun The Storm, who switches back to turf after some good AW runs. Sadiqaa and Juan Les Pins are next on the list.
