14:10 – The Raven’s Return
The Raven’s Return is on a losing run which stretches back to October 2020 and comprises 16 starts, but he’s slipped in the weights and shaped with some promise on his first start for Chris Gordon after leaving Charles & Adam Pogson. The Raven’s Return was beaten a long way at Carlisle, but the winner was showing much-improved form in a first-time tongue strap and has since followed up. The Raven’s Return is unlikely to bump into anything so well handicapped here and, back in cheekpieces, he looks worth siding with.

14:45 – Tamgho Borget
Tamgho Borget has shown little under Rules but he is a point winner and boasts a decent pedigree, so it would be no surprise were he to improve now stepping up in trip and going chasing. Tamgho Borget has been found a weak handicap chase by Christian Williams, whose runners are in good form, and there are reasons to expect an improved showing.
15:20 – Merry Mistress
Merry Mistress is in top form at present and has finished in the frame on her last seven starts. She ran up to her best when successful at Doncaster earlier in the month and a 4 lb rise in the weights for that authoritative two-and-a-quarter-length success looks fair. She should launch another bold bid.

15:55 – Maliboo
Maliboo shaped better than the distance beaten would suggest on her chasing debut at Fakenham on New Year’s Day and she built significantly on that promise to score at Huntingdon on her next outing. Maliboo then followed up over hurdles at Catterick a week later, and while she was unable to complete the hat-trick back over fences here three weeks ago she ran as well as she ever has in second. That course-and-distance effort against the geldings highlighted her effectiveness around here, and this in-form mare has been found a good opportunity back against her own sex.
16:30 – Esprit de Somoza
Plenty of these have a question to answer but Esprit de Somoza ran his best race yet over fences when successful at Stratford a couple of weeks ago, resuming winning ways in first-time cheekpieces. That race was run at a good gallop and the consistent runner-up adds further substance to the form, so that was a solid effort from Esprit de Somoza. He has won around here before and looks set to launch a bold bid.

17:05 – Stormin Crossgales
Stormin Crossgales pulled too hard to make an impact in bumpers but, despite still looking headstrong, he has fared better since being allowed to stride on over hurdles. Stormin Crossgales has finished placed on both starts here over hurdles and he looks well equipped to cope with this test of speed.
