Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets…
Although he was beaten 29l in the Triumph Hurdle, KOI DODVILLE had no chance against that calibre of opposition and will surely find this much less demanding. He is not badly treated on his handicap debut and should enjoy underfoot conditions if rain stays away. Brown Bullet ran better last time and may prove the main danger despite the drop back in trip being a slight worry.
Saturday’s Curragh winner Mogwli will have plenty of supporters despite a 7lb penalty for that success and is likely to go close but preference is for TEDDY BOY who likes this venue and also comes here in form after a narrow defeat at Dundalk last week. Thepeckhampouncer and Amazing Emma also have good course form and are worth considering.
The 7yo KARL PHILIPPE was well on top in the finish at Ludlow despite not operating at his best and he can defy a 4lb rise. Yggdrasil appeals as his most likely threat.
A competitive race in which Dayman is respected on handicap debut with the longer trip likely to suit, while Dungar Glory shouldn’t be underestimated on this return having ended last year with a good effort in a Listed contest. However, despite joint-top weight, it’s hard to get away from STORMY OCEAN who was impressive at Newcastle last time and the form of that race is working out really well. Beltane is another worth keeping an eye on.
