14:20 – Brief Ambition

Muckamore comes here after a good recent effort but the likely front-runner BRIEF AMBITION made a very bright start to his chasing career in the autumn and is selected to maintain his 100% strike-rate over fences. Atholl Street is the one with most to prove but, conversely, he’s probably the one with the most potential.

14:55 – Midnights Legacy

The most interesting runner is MIDNIGHTS LEGACY (nap), who gained his only hurdling win in an uncompetitive Plumpton novice but is a very talented Flat-racer and could turn out to be well handicapped over hurdles. Listed novice winner Balko Saint disappointed when last in action but is, nevertheless, feared most.

15:30 – Tide Times

Head To The Stars has a very good record over this C&D but he might find today’s ground a bit too lively and preference is for TIDE TIMES, who looked in very good nick when winning here on Wednesday and now bids to overcome a 7lb penalty. Bobhopeornohope also won over C&D when last in action and is another to take very seriously.

16:05 – Gran Luna

Recent soft-ground maiden hurdle winner Hillfinch showed more than enough in good-ground bumpers to suggest her opening handicap mark will be manageable but the suggestion is GRAN LUNA, who has remained in very good form since her win in December and could still have untapped potential over this sort of trip. Litterale Ci was out of form when we last saw her in October but she’ll be dangerous off her current mark if back on song.

16:40 – Kayf Taoi

Recent Southwell winner Hector Javilex has less to prove but another chance is given to KAYF TAOI, who made a promising hurdle debut two starts ago and reportedly found the soft ground too taxing when pulled up on his latest outing.

17:15 – Zamparelli

Wagner is not opposed lightly as he bids to complete a hat-trick of hunter chase wins but ZAMPARELLI landed this prize in pretty good style a year ago and seemed to be perked up by a change of headgear when running very well in defeat in a competitive open point at Larkhill last month. He might be the answer.
