A tight, trappy race. COURT ROYALE had dropped to a career-low mark when threatening at Hereford and hopefully he can build on that. Second choice Elkstone ran well last time and he’s effectively 8lb lower here, but Give Me A Moment and Rafferty hold decent chances also.

14:18 Ballybeen

Dariya can go well again after justifying support at Huntingdon but BALLYBEEN ran quite a nice race on his handicap debut and he edges preference. Here Hare Here may have been found out by the soft ground when seemingly fancied for his handicap debut two weeks ago, and watch out for any confidence behind Ernie Bilko.

14:53 Always Able (NAP)

Barrakhov and Fine By Her (preferred in that order) both come here after good recent efforts but the most appealing option is ALWAYS ABLE (nap), who chased home an unexposed rival at Hereford two weeks ago and is now only 2lb higher than when scoring in pretty good style over C&D last spring.

15:28 Sofia’s Rock

Weebill is a bit of a character but he won twice in plating company during the winter and has more than enough ability to play a significant role in this. However, preference is for SOFIA’S ROCK, who is patently not as good as he was but is sure to benefit from today’s return to good ground and takes a significant drop in grade here.

16:03 Privatory

Only a handful of these make any serious appeal with PRIVATORY getting the nod to bring up the hat-trick and maintain his unbeaten record in the process with improvement on the cards. Doncaster-winner Geometrical rates as the obvious danger having made a winning start over hurdles last month, with Point Him Out seemingly best of the rest.

16:38 Galahad Quest

Dual course winner Kap Auteuil didn’t jump as well as he can when fourth on his latest start over fences and might still have more improvement to come as a chaser but GALAHAD QUEST has performed well in some stronger races this season and might be the answer. Grand Sancy also dips in grade after contesting some major handicaps and is next on the list.

17:10 Lightfoot Lady

Stroll On By may just about set the standard but Carrigdoun Boy and Kracka Nut are already winners, while Red River Valley has won an Irish point and Hurricane Bay has shown promise. However, both LIGHTFOOT LADY and Aldsworth are notable newcomers and it’s interesting that Nicky Henderson is happy to take on the boys with his mare who is bred to win a bumper.
