13:50 – Mo Celita
There’s only seven runners and you could make a case for a few of them. Garrus is at the top of the betting and when he’s on song, he’s effective. Diligent Harry is up there too but their prices are opposable. I’m going for Mo Celita, who’s trained by Adrian Nicholls. She’s had a couple of runs in Ireland but since joining that team, she’s gone from strength to strength. She could get an early lead and stay there.

14:25 – Star Shield
Empirestateofmind and General Lee both have really good form but they haven’t been seen since last year. I’ve landed on Star Shield as an each-way alternative at a bigger price. He got going too late last time out at Newcastle and prior to that, his form was decent. Race fitness could be a big thing and the grass should suit him.
15:00 – Chindit
This is a good opportunity for Chindit to win. He’s got very good form when fresh and Richard Hannon is obviously attacking this weekend and he’s expecting the win. Royal Champion had a good reputation going into his York run last year but it’s hard to oppose Chindit.

15:35 – Notre Belle Bete & Another Batt
Notre Belle Bete could be very well in despite going up 5lbs for a recent win at Wolverhampton. Since switching to Andrew Balding, he’s been very good. He’s currently rated 92, which is 11lbs below his peak Irish rating. He’s the bottom weight and he could be a big player. In terms of big-price runners, I also like Another Batt. He’s got course form and he’s really likeable. He’ll be knocking around at the end.
