13:55 – Imperial Joe
How’s The Cricket has nothing to prove regarding his stamina and is particularly intriguing on his debut for Harry Fry after an absence but IMPERIAL JOE (nap) has come on a good deal of late and is taken to follow up his Exeter win with the longer trip not expected to be a problem. Gerolamo Cardano is next on the list, with Checkitsme likely to be involved as well.

14:30 – Take Your Time
West To The Bridge is the only one who ran with credit last time and he’s going great guns, but TAKE YOUR TIME brings a greater chance of having the required stamina. The selection has had 88 days off since a modest show last time and it’s worth taking the chance that Paul Nicholls has him back firing on all cylinders. It’s possible that Forecast will revive back with Martin Keighley, while Lamanver Pippin needs to put a very troubled 15 months or so well behind him.
15:05 – Bolintlea
This may well the point at which BOLINTLEA gets off the mark under rules, after her four seconds. She made a 2-9 favourite pull out all the stops last time out, over a markedly longer trip than this but she still looks very much the one to beat. Lone Star switches from bumpers but the chief threat is probably from Whisky Express who won a bumper last March but has looked green in her two starts over hurdles.

15:40 – Le Cameleon
There are issues with all four scheduled runners. Preference is for LE CAMELEON who showed what he can do on his penultimate start and at least went well for a long way at Kempton last time. Magic Dancer brings much more consistency on this season’s chasing evidence and therefore merits second on the list but the trip is a worry for him. Sending Love and Encounter A Giant need to brush up their jumping.
16:15 – Commis DOffice
Good runs are hard to guarantee in this field, particularly if Romanor needs the race after his more than three months off. However, COMMIS D’OFFICE gave cause for renewed hope at Newbury last time out and he gets the vote ahead of Morgenstern, then Le Ligerien.
16:50 – Houi Cherie
Several of interest and despite the slight reservation about this sharp track HOUI CHERIE gets the vote after showing plenty of pluck on her debut for this yard at Ascot. Irish pointer Hymac is next on the list but the market is likely to point the way both for him and the likes of St Patricks Bridge, who also showed promise in an Irish point, and newcomer Wotastunner.
