13:45 – Eros

Ambion Hill and Doyannie (preferred in that order) can probably be relied upon to give good accounts but EROS drops back in trip after a good second over 2m4f here this month and might be the answer.

14:20 – Ballyblack

Electric Annie makes obvious appeal as she bids to complete a course hat-trick but slight preference is for the potential of handicap debutant BALLYBLACK, who has made a good start to his rules career. Guernesey is likely to run well again.

14:55 – Glajou

Last-time-out winner The Russian Doyen needs to prove he can still cope with a mark this high, while confidence in Torpillo would be much higher on soft/heavy ground. Therefore, the most appealing option is GLAJOU, who arguably ran better than the bare form suggests when beaten about 14l on his latest outing and might be able to exploit a subsequent 4lb drop.

15:30 – Petrossian

Name In Lights has been placed twice over C&D this year and is good enough to win a race of this nature at some stage but the one to beat today is probably PETROSSIAN, who made a useful rival work hard when second in a small-field contest on his hurdling debut in November. Biowavego made a promising debut last month and is next on the list.

16:05 – Coup de Pinceau

Max Dynamo runs this track very well and is respected as he attempts to win for the fourth consecutive time but COUP DE PINCEAU will find this much easier than his latest assignment and is given the vote in the hope he has been refreshed by a recent change of stable. Brianstorm comes here after a good effort in defeat and can also feature.

16:40 – Lord Of Cheshire (nap)

This can go to LORD OF CHESHIRE (nap), who beat two subsequent winners when making all in a Ludlow maiden last month and looks on a good mark for today’s handicap debut, even before Finn Lambert’s very useful 10lb claim is considered. Former Flat-racer Harlem Soul won a recent soft-ground novice here, despite some rather errant jumping in the closing stages, and might be favoured by the drying conditions today. Gambie Tiep is unexposed in Britain and also enters calculations.

17:10 – Wetanwindy

Dan Skelton’s completely unexposed 6yo Night In Manhattan makes his handicap debut off a basement mark and can’t be opposed with any confidence but a more compelling case can be made for last-time-out course winner WETANWINDY, who might still be improving. Megaudais Speed and Lazy Sunday should also feature.

17:40 – Immortal Fame

Twilight Glory looks a likely improver now handicapping over a longer trip, with West Orchard another handicap debutant with the potential to do better. Danzini ran well on her handicap debut and can feature but IMMORTAL FAME responded well to Stan Sheppard’s urgings at Hereford three weeks ago and he can gain a third win of the campaign.
