Horse Racing Tips: 16/1 shout in Matt Chapman’s picks for Saturday’s ITV Racing

@MCYeehaaa likes the look of Zanza (14:40, Kempton) as he previews Saturday's tellybox action.

13:30 Kempton – Uallrightharry

ITV Saturday might seem like the calm after the storm but actually Midlands National Day is always a stormer. The action gets under way here at Kempton with a handicap chase over 3m. This is wide open despite a small field. The door hans’t opened this season for UALLRIGHTHARRY but it might just do so here for John Best and Karen Jewell and Jamie Moore. My selection hstays well and was far from disgraced when second behind Un Prophete at Fontwell last time. Has been given a slight chance by the handicapper.

13:50 Uttoxeter – Serious Charges

ITV gets under way at Uttoxeter with his handicap hurdle over nearly 3m. The obvious one here looks to be SERIOUS CHARGES for Anthony Honeyball and Rex Dingle. The lightly raced five-year-old has only raced four times but has never been out the frist two and might well be able to cope with his mark aftere wins at Exeter and Fontwell.

14:05 Kempton – Rockstar Ronnie

Another handicap chase here for novices over 2m. Another tough race to sort out. ROCKSTAR RONNIE has hit form for the Skelton team of trainer Dan and jockey Bridget Andrews. He’s on a hat-trick after wins at this track on his last two starts and clearly conditions suit him well. He remains on 132 after his last success on that rating.

14:25 Uttoxeter – Fuji Flight

A handicap chase over 3m. FUJI FLIGHT is really getting his act together and impressed in recent successes at Hereford and Newbury. Those wins came off marks of 120 and 127 and he’s up to 132 here. But that’s still workable from his opening handicap mark and I suspect Lucy Turner will get a good spin for Venetia Williams.

14:40 Kempton – Zanza

Now a handicap hurdle over 2m5f. Boy this is tricky. ZANZA has been desperate on his last two starts for all he can be forgiven a flop over 3m last time. That said, he’s now very well handicapped and jockey Tom O’Brien is riding out his skin. All conditions are right for a big effort so it’s just a case of hoping he can recover his form of when second to Coole Cody in the Racing Post Gold Cup at Cheltenham.

15:00 Uttoxeter – Panic Attack

Now a handicap hurdle over 2m5f. Hard to be strong on anything here. Beauport deserves a win, but I’ll have a few quid on PANIC ATTACK for David Pipe and Tom Scudamore. My selection ran really well when fourth behind Kansas City Chief at Cheltenham lasty time and this slight drop in trip should nto be an issue. Has more to offer so a few quid eachway.

15:15 Kempton – Pitol Whipped

This is a handicap chase over an extended 2m4f. Another very hard event. PITOL WHIPPED was very poor when last seen at Ascot but he was pretty useful tghe time before when second at Uttoxeter. A mark of 152 is workable and if he returns to form for Nico de Boinville and Nicky Henderson he has evey chance.

15:35 Uttoxeter – Captain Drake

Here is the big betting race of the day in the Midlands Grand National over 4m2f. Obviously stamina is key, and I see no reason why CAPTAIN DRAKE won’t go well here for Harry Fry and Bryan Carver who takes off a valuable 3lb. A handicap mark of 134 is definitely workable and he’s in good form on the back of a win at Exeter. Stamina is no issue so should have a great place chance at the very least.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
