Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets…
13:35 Ayr – Lord Roco (Daily Mail)
James Ewart’s pair LORD ROCO and Benack are unexposed and the former gets the verdict after a perfectly satisfactory handicap debut at Doncaster. Arthur’s Seat, for whom Brian Hughes is a positive booking, may prove the chief threat, with Ned Tanner also feared.
14:25 Sandown – Hystery Bere (Racing Post)
The strong-travelling novice Balco Coastal brings conspicuous potential into his first handicap but he’s been well found in the market and there are doubts as to whether the stiff nature of Sandown will play to his strengths. The suggestion is HYSTERY BERE, whose latest Cheltenham run looks all the better now and there are good reasons, on a few counts, to believe he can find something on that. The danger could be Irish raider Suprise Package who had plenty more behind him than in front at Leopardstown’s big meeting last month. Onemorefortheroad and Lucky One are others for the shortlist.
15:16 Wolverhampton – Take A Stand (Sheffield Star)
Preference is for TAKE A STAND, who has shown clear promise with his two placed efforts at Kempton this year and is open to more progress with blinkers added. Killearn went close in his final 2yo run and he’s feared most on his return, though Newcastle winner How Impressive had an excuse when switched to sprinting last month and is respected on his step back up in trip. Native Angel has leading claims on her debut form but she was turned over at 1-4 last time and has something to prove for a new yard.
15:25 Navan – Daily Present (Irish Sun)
Some potentially smart staying novices here. Both DAILY PRESENT and Jaycean looked as though they would be better still at this longer trip when running out decisive winners of recent 2m4f maidens, the former getting the nod. Bronn was pitched very much in at the deep-end last time when coming up short, but still has potential for improvement down in class here.
