13:50 Sandown – Our Jet

I thought Knappers Hill would run better at Newbury but maybe the trip is what he has been crying out for. He was only beat six-and-a-half lengths at Newbury and was running on so has to be a worthy favourite.

The one I like though is Our Jet. This lad won at Wetherby and the horse he beat has won at the same course easily since. The wind operation has worked the trick with this horse and I feel he is well handicapped off his Mark of 122. He got narrowly beaten by Hillcrest at Aintree earlier In the year and that is good form.

Jerrash is really interesting. Gary and Jamie Moore both thought that he may not run again after his win at Fontwell but they have decided to roll the dice here and I think this horse is a player.

He is a 14/1 shot or thereabouts and I think that is too big. He’s a lot smarter than what he showed last time and it’s interesting that they let him take his chance.

14:25 Sandown – Onemorefortheroad

This lad has not run since Ascot where he finished a good second to Tritonic with Goshen and Metier all behind him. He won the Gerry Fielden at Newbury and is only 4lbs higher here.

Balco Coastal is the obvious one as favourite. His second at Cheltenham got a boost when the horse that beat him got chinned in a graded race at Kelso next time out. Two miles is perfect for him as he is a strong traveller, but lacks experience and that would be a concern in a contest like this.

Hystery Bere is another who warrants respect that form of his last time at Cheltenham has been boosted again this stiff uphill finish will suit.

15:00 Sandown – Mullenbeg

This daughter of Walk In The Park has looked really good in her two wins. She did very nicely at Cheltenham last time, travelling so strongly through the race it is hard to look past her.

The one who I thought could be really interesting is Lucia trained by Nicky Henderson. A daughter of the Gorka, she won very nicely at Warwick on soft ground in her first start, and she is also related to a horse called Hooper who is a high 130s-rated hurdler. In receipt of 14lb from the favourite here – that definitely gives her a chance.

15:35 Sandown – Danny Kirwan

The fitting of cheekpieces certainly worked at Wincanton where he ran out a comfortable winner. He probably went too hard at Kempton the time before on Boxing Day but this track will suit this son of Scorpion and it looks a really good contest for him.

Frenchy du Large for Venetia Williams finished a good second at Lingfield in heavy ground last time. Prior to that he was on a roll and he’s definitely a player but the fact he can miss the odd fence is a slight concern around this trappy jumping track.
