We’re just a week away from the Cheltenham Festival, which means it’s the final episode of our antepost tipping podcast series as attention turns to the handicaps.
The From The Horse’s Mouth team ran the rule over the Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle, with legendary jockey Ruby Walsh, Paddy’s trader Frank Hickey and tipster Rory Delargy giving their early fancies ahead of final declarations.

Ruby Walsh:
“If the decision was mine, I’d send Good Risk At All to the Martin Pipe, purely because of his jumping. I’d like him here over the Coral Cup. He won last time out at Ascot, winning by 9l. He’s had a couple of second-place finishes, including one behind Jonbon at Newbury in November. Good Risk At All could be a player if he lines up.”

Frank Hickey:
“Deploy The Getaway is the one that caught my eye. Off a mark of 140, he looks sure to improve, especially with stepping up in trip. If he runs, I’d take the chance on him. He’s well handicapped and he was unlucky to get beaten by Slip Of The Tongue last time out at Punchestown. The new course could really suit him so if he keeps his head, he could impress.”

Rory Delargy:
“I’m siding with Ruby and going with Good Risk At All. He became really well handicapped because his jumping held him back on his first few starts over hurdles. He was a great bumper horse. He’s gradually got better and be bolted up at Ascot last time out. He’d be better off in this than in the Coral Cup.
“Balco Coastal is a big price and he’d also appreciate the trip so he could be worth keeping an eye on. He could run okay but Good Risk At All would be my main pick.”
