Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets…
14:40 Newcastle – Fethard Glory (Steve Mullington)
FETHARD GLORY was well beaten in three novice hurdles this season (2m-2m5f) but showed some ability in bumpers beforehand and now makes her handicap debut from a lowly mark.
14:55 Sandown – Doukarov (Ipswich Star, Matt Polley)
DOUKAROV is in a consistent vein of form, having scored at Newbury in December and been placed in three subsequent runs. Also a good second back at Newbury (2m, soft) latest and holds very solid claims off the same mark.
16:05 Sandown – Benson (Morning Star, Farringdon)
BENSON won the 2m Listed handicap here on Tingle Creek day in 2020 and wasn’t disgraced off a stiffer mark in the same race this season. Was a below-par favourite at Wetherby (2m3f) last time but, back down the weights, looks interesting returned to this venue.
19:00 Wolverhampton – Across The Nile (The Guardian)
Possible to pick holes in ACROSS THE NILE’S last two C&D wins, when always well positioned in a seller and a steadily run handicap in which the odds-on favourite pulled away his chances. A further 2lb rise is fair, though, and gives her a decent chance of the hat-trick.
