Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets…
Diva’s Mix could be a lively one on her chasing debut and the market needs checking. As things stand, BEBRAVEFORGLORY is taken to make it 2-2 for Evan Williams after readily defying this mark over hurdles last week. Massini Man is next best.
A competitive heat despite the small field. PINKERTON could be the one to side with after chasing home the potentially very smart Journey With Me at Naas last time. Peaceful Sunday and Glengouly were both winners last time out, with the former narrowly preferred to chase the selection home given that he is probably better suited to this trip than the Willie Mullins-trained representative.
First-time cheekpieces did the trick for MOTOWN LAKE at Uttoxeter last month and this unexposed 6yo can follow up in the retained headgear. The Very Thing benefited from a first-time visor when winning at Catterick last time and is respected, but perhaps the chief threat will come from Eveque now back on testing ground. The Lion Dancer and Magic Of Milan could also run well.
There are several interesting contenders in the line-up but the one that appeals most is HIGH VELOCITY, who made it 2-3 with his emphatic win at Newcastle last month and is open to more progress back up in trip on his handicap debut. Second choice is another handicap newcomer in Foxy Rascal who represents a yard that won this last year. Others on the shortlist are Little Prayer, who has been knocking on the door at Lingfield recently, and Red Showgirl, who battled well when making all at Kempton last time.
