Len Brennan won well at Plumpton last week on his return from a two-month break and has a good chance provided this race doesn’t come too soon. A highly tempting alternative is ECOSSAIS (nap) who won this race last year, remains unbeaten at Southwell and looks very nicely weighted. Sam Barton and Hard To Forget are others to consider.

Diva’s Mix could be a lively one on her chasing debut and the market needs checking. As things stand, BEBRAVEFORGLORY is taken to make it 2-2 for Evan Williams after readily defying this mark over hurdles last week. Massini Man is next best.
14:10 – Salvatore
On the back of a success at Bangor where he beat the useful Porlock Bay, SALVATORE is taken to follow up. Dieu Vivant (second choice) ties in with the selection on that form, while Solomon Grey and Activial are respected on their peak figures.
14:45 – Washington
In terms of hurdles form, WASHINGTON is well clear on the figures and has a consistent profile to boot. His biggest threat may be Doncaster winner Geometrical, whose Flat form suggests he should become useful in this sphere. Alchemystique needs a mention back at the scene of her hurdles debut success, while Mochachocachino and Sonnemoser are open to improvement.

Kyntara has leading form claims but he failed to take advantage of what looked a good opportunity last time and would not be a tempting proposition if he’s again short odds. An interesting alternative is JEFFERY’S CROSS, who shaped with promise in a good race at Ascot last month and should improve. Benign Dictator and Perryville may be capable of better still, while Kitaway should relish the new trip.
15:55 – Ladykiller
Several runners are appealing in this open contest. First choice is LADYKILLER, who retains potential judged on his German Flat form and may well prove suited by this new trip. Hazard Collonges is narrow second choice, ahead of Highstakesplayer and C’est Quelqu’un. Handicap debutants Farmer’s Gamble, Navegaon Gate and Ange Endormi are also interesting.

Begin The Luck ran the best race last time out but that was on his favoured good ground, conditions that have also brought the best out of Pay The Woman. TARSEEM goes handicapping in a weak race and he makes the most appeal in the hope he can find some improvement.
