WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
13:00 – Beat Box
BEAT BOX looks the way to go here given he still figures on a handy mark and should prove suited by the return to 2m having travelled well for a long way when fifth over 20f at Wetherby last time. Bay of Intrigue rates a big threat though on the back of his Lingfield second with Brian Hughes an eye-catching booking and Market Rasen scorer Lightning Attack can’t be ruled out either.
13:30 – Golfe Clair
GOLFE CLAIR was right back on his game when runner-up in handicap company at Catterick in January and a repeat of that effort will likely suffice in novice company. Where’s Hector has finished runner-up all 3 starts so far and a similar scenario is envisaged again.

14:03 – Breizh Alko
BREIZH ALKO is a rare breed being an unexposed, improving 11-y-o and he’s taken to defy a 9 lb rise for his easy win at Uttoxeter 3 weeks ago. Chef d’Oeuvre ran his best race of the season when second at Wetherby last time and is next best ahead of Morningside.
14:38 – Thatbeatsbanagher
THATBEATSBANAGHER won off higher marks in Ireland so still has handicapping scope after a 4 lb rise for his recent C&D win and might be able to halt the winning run of Midnight Mary.
15:13 – Dalyotin
Manwell is sure to be popular having capitalised on a falling mark at Catterick last time but at the likely prices it could be worth chancing DALYOTIN. Rebecca Menzies is enjoying somewhat of a purple patch and, returning over the larger obstacles/back down to a more suitable trip, he gets the verdict. The aforementioned Manwell heads the dangers if he’s in the same mood, ahead of The Paddy Pie.

15:48 – Twoshotsoftequila
TWOSHOTSOFTEQUILA has gone up 5 lb for his C&D second last month but this unexposed sort could have more to come and his yard could hardly be in better form so he gets the vote. Sheriff Garrett has suffered two falls since his C&D second on Boxing Day but could pose the main threat if his jumping holds up. Mason Jar is worth monitoring in the betting on his second run after a break.
16:23 – Croagh Patrick
An interesting finale in which it may pay to take a chance on CROAGH PATRICK. A low-mileage 7-y-o, he ran well when placed on each of his first 2 starts over fences and had excuses when last seen at Wetherby in December. On the back of a break/wind op, he may well get back on the up. Recent, facile C&D winner Ashjan is a major threat however, ahead of Shaws Bridge.
