WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

13:10 – Head Law

HEAD LAW was a French bumper winner in November 2020 before being bought for €150,000 by these connections. He showed fairly useful form on just his second start over hurdles when fourth in a novice at Newbury last time, travelling strongly to two out before his effort flattened out. Beaten 11 lengths behind the promising I Am Maximus, Head Law might not need to improve on that form to get off the mark in these calmer waters.

13:45 – Chambard

CHAMBARD made the most of a good opportunity to resume winning ways on his latest outing at Fontwell, drawing clear between the final two flights to win easily by 13 lengths. This will be tougher from a 7 lb higher mark, but he clearly arrives here in a rich vein of form having finished first or second in each of his last four starts. He should stay three miles and another bold bid is expected.

14:20 – Signal Point

SIGNAL POINT was below form on her second appearance over hurdles at Warwick nine days ago, but it’s far too soon to be writing her off given how promising she looked when making a winning debut at Southwell in January. That was a fair performance and a repeat of that effort will probably put her right in the mix here under a penalty.

14:55 – Petty Cash

PETTY CASH showed improved form to make a successful handicap debut over hurdles at Ffos Las last month, readily defying an opening BHA mark of 100. She won by only two and a half lengths but was arguably value for extra, hitting the line strongly after quickening to lead before the last. She remains open to more improvement and a 7 lb rise in the weights is unlikely to be enough to stop her in her follow-up bid for the in-form Henry Daly (five winners from last 19 runners).

15:30 – Nocte Volatus

NOCTE VOLATUS was progressive over fences earlier this season, registering wins at Catterick in December and Doncaster in January. He looked set to add to another victory to his tally when back over hurdles at Catterick last time, but his jumping let him down as he fell heavily at the second last, still looking full of running at the time. Back over fences today, he is still on a good mark judged on the balance of his form and another win beckons if he’s none the worse for his fall last time.

16:05 – Age of Wisdom

AGE OF WISDOM has failed to make an impact in two starts this winter, but he shaped with a bit more encouragement when running over an insufficient trip at Fontwell last time. He steps back up in trip today and the cheekpieces he usually wears are also fitted again for the first time this season. Now 7 lb lower in the weights than when registering his last success over hurdles, Age of Wisdom is well worth a chance to bounce back at rewarding odds for Gary Moore, who could hardly be in better form with eight winners in the last seven days.

16:40 – Celtic Tara

CELTIC TARA showed improved form after four months off when finding one too good over this course and distance last time, proving well suited by the step up in trip. She passed the post just a length behind the winner and the first two pulled clear of the rest in a race in which stamina was the order of the day. Still totally unexposed as a stayer, Celtic Tara is only 3 lb higher in the weights today and the slight drop in grade provides her with a good opportunity to open her account.

17:10 – Roll With It

ROLL WITH IT has hit the frame on his last two starts in bumpers, again showing fairly useful form when filling the runner-up spot at Kempton last time. He was beaten only seven lengths and that could prove a strong heat as the winner Leave of Absence looks well worth a try in graded company. There is unlikely to be anything of that calibre in opposition here and Roll With It is expected to prove too good for this lot if continuing to go the right way.
