13:15 Newbury – Aso

I’m siding with ASO. He’s down 4lbs from his run when third behind Run To Milan at Exeter on his last start. He was second to Blacklion at Haydock in December. Charlie Deutsch is in the saddle for Venetia Williams and it’s hard to get away from the success they’re having this season.

13:32 Kelso – North Lodge

It was obvious Richmond Lake would be the market leader after finishing second behind Jonbon at Haydock but I don’t see why he’s going to turn the form with NORTH LODGE. When they met at Aintree in December, North Lodge beat him on his debut and he’ll have improved despite being worse off in the weights now with Richmond Lake. He did well at Cheltenham in November when he beat Balco Coastal. He’ll beat Richmond Lake again.

13:50 Newbury – Tamaroc Du Mathan

TAMAROC DU MATHAN‘s on his second start after a wind operation. He was clearly the second string behind Dolos on his first start after that break at Sandown. He had good runs last year including when second to Shishkin and won the Pendle Novices’ Chase. He’s down from a high of 150 to 142 and was dropped 4lbs for that run at Sandown. He could have turned a corner for that.

14:05 Kelso – Wilde About Oscar

It’s a tricky race and I’m going for a horse coming down in the weights – and that’s WILDE ABOUT OSCAR. It’s his second run after a wind operation and cheekpieces are applied for the first time. He’s down from a mark of 150 last April to 141 and he’s been dropped 4lbs from his last run. He’s fresh for this time of the year so Wilde About Oscar will do me!

14:20 Doncaster – Get A Tonic

It’s quite simple, GET A TONIC wins here for Bridget Andrews and Dan Skelton.

14:55 Doncaster – Bun Doran

I’m going with BUN DORAN. He’s dropped 19lbs since this time last year. The track and trips suits him. He’ll do for me!

15:15 Kelso – Autumn Evening (NAP)

Metier got 7lbs for beating Gowel Road at Lingfield’s big winter meeting, which was a fair enough run. Emmet Mullins’ Carrarea was back in third that day before running in the big handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival and finishing sixth.

AUTUMN EVENING was third in that race and he was carrying 11st 4lbs compared to Carrarea’s 10st 2lbs, which gives you a line of how far ahead of Careera, Autumn Evening is. It was a strongly run handicap hurdle, Autumn Evening was travelling really well just behind the pace but faded at the last to finish third. Even though he’s up 9lbs on his Irish mark in the UK, he’s one of the first ones now that is dipping their toes in the water ahead of Cheltenham.

I’d say Autumn Evening is going here with one eye on winning and having a crack at the County Hurdle.

15:30 Doncaster – Storm Control

STORM CONTROL was unlucky behind Windsor Avenue at Doncaster on his last start and Daire McConville rides again. He sent him away from the third last and was five or six lengths in front by the last, but Storm Control pulled himself up and Windsor Avenue came and mugged him late one. Daire McConville’s doing a fine job for a 10lb claimer, which brings Storm Control’s rating from 141 to 131 and he’s well capable of winning when he’s rated in the 130s.

15:43 Kelso – Gold Des Bois

I’d love an extra runner as only the seven are declared, which makes it awkward for each-way betting. I’m going for the outsider of the field in GOLD DES BOIS. His run at Kelso last October behind Nuts Well was pretty solid. He was rated 134 that day and has dropped to a mark of 126. He then went to Carlisle, which is a stiff track, and was second to Arvico Bleu and has since run twice at Musselburgh and once at Doncaster which are quite fast tracks. Back on a stiffer track and in a trappy contest will suit.
