14:00 – Steel Wave
Most of these arrive with a question mark against their current form but that’s certainly not the case with STEEL WAVE (nap), who went very close over C&D last time. He’s taken to go one better today from 3lb out of the handicap. Fellow 12yo First Figaro is feared most off a handy mark on his first run of the season, while Cracking Find could go well if there’s not too much rain.

14:30 – GETBAZOUTOFHERE
The lightly raced 6yo GETBAZOUTOFHERE was a promising third in a maiden hurdle at Fakenham last time and, judged on the runner-up’s subsequent exploits in handicaps, she has potential off today’s mark. Midnight Callisto has a solid profile and is second choice ahead of Fiveandtwenty and Merry Mistress.
15:05 – Boombawn
The Dan Skelton-trained BOOMBAWN was a good third to Jonbon at Newbury last time out in November and can capitalise on the 7lb he receives from the now-penalised Kempton winner Call Of The Wild.

15:40 – Across The Line
Having bumped into the rejuvenated Elixir De Nutz when a well-beaten second at Kempton last time, ACROSS THE LINE can go one better today in a race that should take less winning. Recent course winner The Unit is second choice, ahead of the consistent Baron De Midleton.
14:15 – Corey’s Courage
The unbeaten 6yo COREY’S COURAGE is selected to defy a double penalty, having won with plenty in hand on both hurdle starts. C&D winner Nextdoortoalice is second choice, while Moonamacaroona receives weight from both those rivals and could be a contender. My Girl Lollipop was no match for Corey’s Courage last time but could benefit from this longer trip.

16:45 – Animal
The 6yo ANIMAL has been progressive over fences this season and earns the vote on the back of a good third at Market Rasen last time out. Bitasweetsymphony is also having a good campaign and has hinted that today’s step back up in trip could be a positive. He’s feared most, although Get Your Own could bounce back with a big run having been unsuited by Catterick last time.
17:20 – TwoshotsofTequila
A competitive race featuring last-time-out winners Turning Gold, Sullivan’s Brow, Enlighten and Son Of The Somme, but preference is for TWOSHOTSOFTEQUILA who is unexposed at the trip and 5lb ahead of the handicapper having gone close behind a progressive winner at Sedgefield last Thursday. The improving Son Of The Somme stands out as the main danger, while Justified is an interesting handicap newcomer.
