Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets…
Parisencore probably won’t go down without a fight but the one to beat is MASKED CRUSADER, who posted a good effort when second over C&D on his recent stable/hurdle debut and ought to build on that performance.
The one with most potential is low-mileage 8yo TROOPER TURNBULL, who has made a promising start to his chasing career. Rose Dobbin’s runner finished only third of five when favourite at Newcastle last time but still performed very well. Armattiekan was in good form when last seen in the autumn but soft ground is not ideal for him. Conversely, conditions should suit Ard Chros but Relkadam is nominated as second choice.
Drying ground is a big tick for Heart Of A Lion and Rostello won so well at Fakenham that he looks dangerous. However, MINELLA HUB comfortably justified market support on his recent chase debut here and he appeals as a horse with lots more to offer.
Following her all-the-way success on stable debut at Chelmsford last time Cuban Breeze has to make the shortlist, as does Buy Me Back who has dropped to an attractive mark. Scale Force can never be left out of calculations around here but dual C&D winner ATIYAH looks the one to side with from her good draw, especially as she may have performed even better than it looked when fourth at Newcastle last time.
