13:00 – Zamond
The handicapper might have taken a bit of a chance dropping ZAMOND 3 lb for his latest Sedgefield third so he’s the suggestion in an opener where few arrive with compelling claims. Rumble B, Jelski and Kings Creek are others to consider.

13:30 – Cornerstone Lad
CORNERSTONE LAD was 11 lengths behind Mackenberg at Carlisle but there’s a whopping 22 lb swing in the weights between that pair in this non-handicap and that should be enough for Micky Hammond’s chanrge to turn the tables.
14:05 – Da Vinci Hand
DA VINCI HAND clearly goes well at this track and arrives in form, so he seems the obvious answer in a race that might not take much winning. Getaway Jewel is a player after his encouraging fourth last time, and Mymilan could make his presence felt dropped back markedly in trip.
14:40 – Kopa Kilana
Not a strong-looking maiden and KOPA KILANA, who saw off last week’s impressive Doncaster hurdles winner Elvis Mail when landing a Musselburgh bumper under Brian Hughes back in the autumn, looks the way to go. Monte Igueldo surely has races in him and looks the danger after another promising run at Bangor. Whizz Kid takes a big drop in class and could do much better.

15:15 – Chanting Hill
CHANTING HILL was not well-served by the steady gallop but still ran creditably when second in a 3-runner mares’ handicap chase here early last month and remaining on her last winning mark, so could well be the answer in a competitive handicap chase. Brother Pat, back from a short break, and Frisco Bay are others to consider.
15:50 – Schalke
With the promise of more to come over this sort of trip, SCHALKE is likely to prove hard to beat given that a 6 lb rise for his recent Market Rasen breakthrough success is not at all harsh. Next on the list is Lady Bowes, who found just one too good upped to 24.3f at Haydock last time and, like Schalke, she is unexposed as a stayer. Akentrick and Wynford can do battle for minor honours.
