Icare Allen and Vadaly both need this run to give them the option of the Fred Winter. Both were disappointing at the Dublin Racing Festival. Vadaly needs to improve a lot and I’m hopeful Icare Allen can bounce back to the level he showed at Leopardstown over Christmas.

Burrows Saint is in great form but all of these will have an eye on the Grand National. It’s a competitive race. Burrows Saint was second in this last year but he was well beaten. He looks good at home but I wouldn’t be surprised if my dad’s horse Any Second Now hacked up and won!

Danny Mullins rides Recite A Prayer for Willie in this one but I’m looking at Sovereign Gold. The Eider form could be key to deciding this one. Sovereign Gold finished third behind History Of Fashion, who runs in the Eider at Newcastle on Saturday. If History Of Fashion wins there, what would give Sovereign Gold’s form a real boost. Sovereign Gold led History Of Fashion at Down Royal but then faded late on. I’m going for Sovereign Gold for Rachael Blackmore and Henry De Bromhead.
17:25 – Kansas City Star
What Path goes well enough at home and he should handle the ground but Kansas City Star for Gordon Elliot seems the one to beat. He’s caught my eye.
