16:40 – BELT BUCKLE

A tricky race to assess, with the standard-setting Tahasun having earned her RPR of 83 in a French conditions race. She may well make a winning start for new connections but there are interesting newcomers, notably BELT BUCKLE. The Gosdens’ filly looks the part on paper and can make a winning start to her career. Jalea Moon may prove the pick of the remainder.

17:15 – KISS KISS

The Ganges sets the standard after his promising debut effort at Newcastle and he should go well on his first run for new connections. Saorla is open to improvement after a fair start at Kempton but KISS KISS might be the answer. She was noted making stealthy late headway on her debut here last month and can put that experience to good use today.

17:45 – NORTHERN

A few with chances but if NORTHERN is restrained for longer than at Wolverhampton then he might reverse those placings with Cinzento. Smart Boyo will be a danger should the blinkers work again.

18:15 – DALBY FOREST

Neither of the standout form contenders Sir Henry Cotton and Allarmista are entirely convincing, for all they have been found an uncompetitive maiden. Watermelon Sugar is an interesting newcomer who needs a close market check but there are grounds for expecting better from DALBY FOREST this season and he can make a winning reappearance.

18:45 – ARAMIS GREY (NAP)

Night Narcissus, Inevitable Outcome and Palifico should all be winning races in the near future but this could be the day for ARAMIS GREY (nap). She did well to finish as close as she did in a race not run to suit at Lingfield three weeks ago and she still appeals as being ahead of her mark.

19:15 – VAPE

A competitive race but not obviously overloaded with early speed. VAPE, who is happiest on the sharp end, ran well over 1m at Kempton ten days ago and this drop back in trip may see him record a third career win. Porfin heads the list of dangers, although Al Asef, Deputise and Miss Bella Brand all have something to recommend them.

19:45 – DUNDORY

Dubai Emperor can confirm recent C&D placings with Haven Lady but both may give best to DUNDORY. John O’Shea’s 6yo ran into a gambled-on winner over C&D 19 days ago, pulling well clear of the third, and he can go one better despite the handicapper’s advances.

20:15 – ODD SOCKS HAVANA

A few of these have stamina to prove over this far but not ODD SOCKS HAVANA who only just failed over 1m2f on his return from a break at Newcastle and won a shade cosily from Strategic Fortune there last week. The latter was doing his best work late there but he can race freely and needs to prove he can stretch his stamina this far so Send In The Clouds may be a better alternative for the forecast.
