13:30 – Exalted Angel

The former course winner has not enjoyed the best of luck recently, but he’s returning to a track and trip that quite clearly suit, The Karl Burke yard are in very decent form and Exalted Angel is reunited with Clifford Lee who gets a great tune out of him. He’s been gifted a handy slot in stall three and should get a perfect stalking trip throughout and pounce late on.

14:05 – Lord North

It looks a straight match between Lord North on his return and Alenquer. They both have an abundance of class but the Gosden runner should have too many gears in the closing stages,. Jockey Rob Havlin knows him particularly well having won  on him four times from just six tries in the saddle. He can follow them into the short straight and let his class tell late on.

14:40 – To The Bar

Richard Hughes’ runner has had a wind operation. We shouldn’t read too much into the fact that he returns of a lengthy absence, as the team are ticking along quite nicely at present and To The Bar is proven to go well when fresh. He was well backed in a really hot race behind Apollo One and Megallon over a furlong shorter and looks as if the step up in distance will play to his strengths.

15:10 – Marks Bear

Looks to has really grown and strengthened into his frame as a four-year-old judged on his last effort  when second over course and distance. He was posted a little wide and made a massive run down the centre, just failing by a length and a half to run down the front-running One Night Stand. In this small field, Marks Bear should be able to drop in and be produced with a winning run down the outside.

18:45 – Palifico

She may have goten off lightly as the handicapper has only nudged her up the 2lb for an excellent second to Tipperary Tiger last time. The winner has run with credit off a rating of 85 since to rubberstamp how strong the form is. Palifico is drawn out wide but over 6f it’s no hindrance to success. She can get on the scoreboard on only her second try for the new team.

19:45 –  Dubai Emperor

If we can forgive him his poor show at Southwell two runs back, Dubai Emperor is clearly in front of the handicapper with two very solid victories this term including one over course and distance. Jamie Spencer is turning up for two rides on a Saturday evening and he is clearly the strongest of them.

He’s a hold-up performer so will suit our rider down to the ground as he can be produced fast and late again.
