Rory Delargy:
“It’s worth bearing in mind the penalty structure. If you win a Grade 2 or higher you pick up a penalty and you end up with some high-class mares in here who have been deliberately kept away from Grade 2 company for the last year so they don’t get a penalty. Elimay and Mount Ida get in with 11st 2lbs and they’ve had their campaigns plotted out to give them the maximum chance on the day.
“Gin On Lime doesn’t float my boat as we haven’t seen her since she pretty much fell in the match with My Drogo. She’s gained plenty of experience and has a similar profile to Put The Kettle On, however.
“The Glancing Queen’s had three runs at the Festival and never finished better than fifth. She ran very well behind L’Homme Presse last time so she’s got a chance on paper but it’s tougher for the novices.

“Vienna Court is a funny mare as she spent two seasons looking like she wouldn’t get her head in front then everything clicked for her at Cheltenham before Christmas when she won really well before following up off a 12lb higher mark. If the ground comes up no worse than soft, I’d give her an each-way chance.
“Zambella wants it very soft. She ran really well in this race last year despite being raw. She was creeping into contention when she came down at the third last and I think she’d have finished third. Her jumping’s been much better this season and she’s been a much better mare for being allowed to attack from the off. She could definitely get involved and she’s not a bad price.
“Concertista’s a bad favourite based on ratings and what she’s achieved over fences so far.
“When we come to the race itself Mount Ida will be favourite and she should be favourite so there’s a strong argument to go for her. She’d be my pick and Zambella each-way if I knew we were going to get a fair bit of ease in the ground.”
