13:50 – Heltenham
This doesn’t look very strong at all and it is certainly easier than the race in which HELTENHAM made little impression at Lingfield. He seemed to perform beneath expectations there and had looked okay in France. Gold Emery is an unknown quantity and could be the main threat, although Battle Of Toro’s Flat ability needs respect.

14:25 – Silver Flyer
Monbeg Genius ran to a useful level when fourth at Ascot last month and, given he shapes very much like a stayer, it’s easy to spot the logic in bringing him to this stiff track. However, SILVER FLYER created a good impression on his rules debut in December and may have too much zip for Jonjo O’Neill’s runner.
15:00 – Frimeur De Lancray
Last year’s winner Scottish Accent got back in the groove with a good win at Kelso last month and is respected but it’s a negative that regular rider Nathan Moscrop is no longer able to claim 3lb. Slight preference is for FRIMEUR DE LANCRAY, who only faded out of contention from the final fence at Wetherby last month. Today’s drop back in trip, combined with Thomas Willmott’s useful 5lb claim, can enable him to open his chasing account.
15:35 – Steady The Ship
There should be a good run in the top weight STEADY THE SHIP, who is dropped in class off a sharply reduced mark, and the Exeter race he contested last time received a couple of form boosts last week. Barnay was running well prior to an excusable defeat last time and he won a division of this 12 months ago off a higher mark. Cellar Vie is best of the rest.

16:05 – Equus Dreamer
Bavington Bob could quite easily be too progressive for the handicapper and is a worthy favourite, but EQUUS DREAMER remains capable of better over fences and rates a feasible alternative. His stable is back in good form and he looked ready for some headgear when making life difficult for his jockey at Bangor last time. Juge Et Parti can also have his say.
16:37 – Thereisnodoubt
West To The Bridge was far too strong for a dual subsequent winner at Chepstow last month and remains well handicapped on older form but a very interesting alternative is THEREISNODOUBT, who ran a big race in defeat on his recent stable debut and, if his Irish form is a guide, can better that performance on today’s slower ground.

17:07 – Walk In My Shoes
A few with chances but WALK IN MY SHOES (nap) could be a sharp improver at this trip on only her second run in handicaps. With You Some Boy up significantly in the weights it is Lady Bowes who earns second preference.
