13:38 Grivetana
The ones with British hurdling form don’t set a daunting standard for Paul Nicholls’ new recruit GRIVETANA, who impressed on her debut in France in December. Mini Yeats and Callisto’s King (preferred in that order) have good each-way claims.

14:13 Flagrant Delitiep
Just 3lb separates the six runners and it’s open despite the small field. Native Robin has been in fine form but the 12yo has to shoulder a 7lb higher mark than he’s ever raced off and preference is for FLAGRANT DELITIEP who ran much his best race of the winter here last time and is well treated off the same mark judged on last winter’s best efforts. Kauto The King should be a threat back at this trip, with Go Steady next on the list.
14:48 Heavey
Max Dynamo won in quite taking style here recently and is by no means overburdened off 4lb higher but the more testing conditions let in HEAVEY who doesn’t do a lot in front but may achieve a bit more yet if the race goes his way. Jean Genie usually goes well after a break and is also considered, ahead of Tide Times.

15:20 Goshen
There have been some bumps in the road for GOSHEN since his unfortunate late exit in the 2020 Triumph Hurdle but he blew his rivals away in this race last year and defends his crown after another good win two weeks ago. He gets the nod but there should still be more to come from the 5yo Adagio, who ran very well in defeat in a hot Cheltenham handicap on his only start this season.
15:58 Mr Glass (NAP)
The most interesting runner is Paul Nicholls’ unexposed novice MR GLASS (nap) who won his first two starts over hurdles and wasn’t discredited in a Grade 1 last time. He seems very versatile regarding the ground and could be on a good mark for today’s handicap debut. Stellar Magic can probably be excused last month’s disappointing run at Ascot and is a big player if judged on his earlier run at Haydock. Solwara One has fallen in two chases this season but still has potential over hurdles.

16:33 El Paso Wood
David Pipe’s EL PASO WOOD won easily by a wide margin over slightly further here two starts ago and has since run a big race in defeat over C&D. He is evidently in prime form and gets the vote. Ask Me Early is not yet fully exposed and is feared most. I See You Well is next on the list.
17:05 Zyon
William Philo improved to make a winning handicap debut in December and could easily have more in the locker but ZYON got his career back on track when reverting to hurdling at Kempton this month and is selected to overcome a 4lb rise. Gaulois weakened quickly on his handicap debut but still has potential. Lucky Lara is a more speculative option to consider.
