WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
13:00 – EAST STREET
EAST STREET was strong in the market when making a winning start under Rules in a weakish race at Wetherby in November before being outclassed by a superior rival at Newcastle last time. Both of those runs have come at two miles, though, and he remains with potential now moving up in trip, and especially now entering handicaps from a workable mark. He is taken to prove too strong for the thriving Shoughall’s Boy, who arrives chasing a hat-trick.
13:30 – JUST CALL ME AL
JUST CALL ME AL is a reliable sort who didn’t need to improve to get off the mark over fences at Sedgefield two weeks ago while also registering a third success at that venue this season. He was value for extra than the official margin, too, around four lengths clear and in full control when making a mistake at the last. He travelled through the race like a well-treated horse on that occasion and is expected to launch another bold bid from a 4 lb higher mark. Shaws Bridge is entitled to come on for his chase debut at Musselburgh and is feared most.
14:05 – MISS FAIRFAX
MISS FAIRFAX shaped well at Ludlow in December and became the third next-time-out winner from that race when opening her account over hurdles in good style at Exeter last month. She looks an above-average prospect and also left the impression she will be even better granted a stiffer test of stamina, so the step up in trip will be right up her street here. She appears to have been found an excellent opportunity to record another win. Letthetruthbeknown is the obvious danger.

14:40 – KANNAPOLIS
KANNAPOLIS is generally a consistent sort and ran a cracker on his first run for over a year when runner-up in a stronger handicap than this at Kempton over Christmas. He pulled clear of the remainder with the winner, who was much improved, so a subsequent 2 lb rise in the weights looks fair, and he is expected to return to winning ways with that run under his belt. Mick Maestro and Timberman rate the principal dangers.
15:15 – OMAR MARETTI
While it’s possible to construct cases for each member of the sextet, OMAR MARETTI is the one who stands out on account of raw potential. He won both of his starts over hurdles last season and built on his promising debut over fences when opening his account in this sphere at Newcastle last month, looking like a horse with a promising future as a staying chaser. The handicapper has only raised him 3 lb for that success, which looks lenient, and he is strongly fancied to follow up, with this longer trip in his favour. Marown did well over fences last term and is second choice.

15:50 – YOU WEAR IT WELL
YOU WEAR IT WELL clearly has more than her share of ability given she finished second on last month’s debut despite pulling very hard, and in the hope she settles this time, she is clearly up to winning a bumper such as this. Stroll On By is second choice on form, with Yellow Jacket an interesting newcomer.
