Ruby Walsh:
14.10 – Ciel De Neige
Willie has Grand Bornand and Ciel De Neige in this one. Grand Bornand literally broke the first fence at Leopardstown on St Stephen’s Day when finishing behind Ferny Hollow so we can put a line through that. As for Ciel De Neige, dropping in trip won’t be an issue for him. He attacks the fences and loves jumping. He’ll be really hard to beat.

14.40 – Stones And Roses
Stones And Roses runs in this one with Paul Townend on board. He loves extreme distances so that could suit him. He also really likes soft ground so any rainfall will help his case.
15.10 – Deploy The Getaway
You’re guaranteed pace with Deploy The Getaway in the race. He won’t be hanging about. It’s a decent race and Largy Debut is solid. Au Fleuron and Slip Of The Tongue can also perform on their day. I thought Deploy The Getaway was going to win in Gowran last year but he bounced back at Down Royal last month. However, it could suit a runner who sits behind the leading pack.
16.40 – James’ Gate
James’ Gate goes well and he’s going in the right direction. He’s worth keeping an eye on in this one.

Frank Hickey:
13.40 – Shady Operator
Tout Est Permis is an interesting addition to the Cross Country game. He’s rated 147 over fences but has been below form since the second half of last season. Enda Bolger has won this six times in the last nine years and he has four here. I can’t look beyond Shady Operator who is 2-2 over the banks and won this race quite easily last year and won the Risk Of Thunder in November here even easier again. Expect him to win here and I feel he is a big player for Cheltenham.

14.40 – The Dabbler (each way)
The Dabbler ran a cracker in the Porterstown when second to Smoking Gun off a mark of 124. He had been in cracking form in the early Autumn through to November with two wins and two seconds from four starts. He’s unexposed when encountering an extreme stamina test. He only carried 10st7lbs and Eoin Walsh takes off another 5lbs.
