Lingfield

13:45 – DESERT EMPEROR

Picked up for 16,000 Guineas unraced out of the Roger Varian  stable Having originally cost 280,000, he has proven to be another canny purchase by his handler and is looking for win number four, undoubtedly he is not at his ceiling rating at the moment despite finishing second last time as the front pair were fully seven lengths clear of the rest of the field, he’s in the right spot with a hot apprentice booked.

14:55 – WAR IN HEAVEN

Has shown a fair level of ability into tries back in 2021 both at Salisbury, he had undergone a wind operation prior to his return this season at Lingfield over course & distance and it was a very smart winning performance indeed, he was posted wide and momentarily lost his balance before levelling off and powering home through the line, he looks on a sharp upward curve and 75 may well underestimate him.

16:05 – CELTIC ART

Is reportedly the only flat runner in the care of the excellent Jeremy Scott and he has not been missing the target so far on two solid tries for the handler, he was once a triple digit rated Runner and sits comfortably below that mark at present so undoubtedly has a good bit of wriggle room reappearing over a track that clearly suits, Hollie Doyle at the wheel is never a negative.

Wolverhampton

18:15 – DECIDUOUS

He’s not going to need to be a superstar to make a winning race course debut in this lineup with the bar being set in the low 70s from a ratings perspective so far, he has already been gelded but that is no bar to success from this outfit who are operating at the moment around a very healthy 33%, Robert Winston has resurrected his career recently and he’s getting plenty of opportunities on some steering jobs for the big outfit.

With the Cheltenham Festival less than five weeks away, there was plenty of chat about the four-day fiesta. Paddy’s gone Non Runner Money Back on all 28 races and our trio of podcast pals – plus host Patrick Kennelly – offered up a leg each of a Lucky 15 to set the scene for next month’s meeting. You can listen to the Punters’ Panel show in full BELOW.

18:45 – ALREHB

I’m not quite sure why he ran such a poor race at Kempton last time but surely he is better than that performance, he did lose a hind shoe but there has to be something else that came to light, previously he had chased home Tyrrhenian Sea when trying to give that particular runner 8lbs which was a cracking effort with that runner now rated 99, he has a lot of natural speed and the drop down to the long sprint of 7 furlongs holds no fears.

19:45 – RED BOND

This lad is dangerously well handicapped and is returning to a track that clearly suits, there is a slight question mark Over the step up in distance but on pedigree it shouldn’t be a problem being a half brother to a few stayers, i’ve been banging on about the new hook up between the Trainer and Jockey combination and I really feel they will be a profitable team throughout the coming season.

14:55 – WAR IN HEAVEN
