Taunton 13:15 – DOCTOR PARNASSUS

DOCTOR PARNASSUS failed to win on the Flat for David O’Meara, but he was purchased out of that yard for 66,000 guineas, is a half-brother to classy hurdler Metier, and judged by his winning debut over hurdles at Ascot, he looks set to take high rank in the juvenile division. There is room for improvement regards his jumping, but he could hardly be in better hands, and should prove hard to beat in receipt of weight now tackling his elders. Norton Hill and Italian Spirit look to be the pick of the opposition.

Taunton 13:50 – MUY BIEN

MUY BIEN has started a big prices in three starts over hurdles so far, but he caught the eye making up ground from an unpromising position over two miles in a maiden hurdle at this course last time, and seems sure to relish the extra emphasis on stamina now sent handicapping. An opening mark in the 90s looks very workable and, with further improvement still expected, he looks the one to focus on here. Sidewaysinmilan shaped better than distance beaten suggests on his first try in a handicap at Huntingdon and remains unexposed.

Tuesday 14:25 – CROSSRAIL

CROSSRAIL is from a useful family and looked very promising when beating a dual subsequent hurdles winner on her debut in a bumper at Worcester last spring. She has since undergone a wind operation and, provided she takes to hurdling, she could be the one they all have to beat in what looks an interesting novice. Cool Stone disappointed last time, so the penalised Walk In Clover, who bolted up in a four-runner affair at Leicester recently, may prove the biggest danger.

Tuesday 15:00 – HIGHEST SUN

HIGHEST SUN isn’t one to make excuses for, but he did leave the impression that he should have won on his final start for Colin Tizzard nine months ago, and he is potentially well handicapped now start out for a new yard. Tom Lacey does well with new recruits and Highest Sun is now 11 lb lower than his peak BHA mark. Revels Hill could be the one to give him most to think about ahead of Wigglesworth.

Tuesday 15:35 – DR T J ECKLEBURG

DR TJ ECKLEBURG was a fairly useful winner on the Flat and has made a bright start over hurdles for Olly Murphy, building on the promise of his debut in this sphere when going one place better at Ludlow last month. He only needed to do the bare minimum to land the odds on that occasion, and there is surely more to come from him now. An opening mark of 115 may underestimate him and also gets an age allowance now up against his elders, so there is plenty to like about his chances. Amelia’s Dance, who is chasing a hat-trick of wins over this course and distance, looks the biggest danger.

Tuesday 16:10 – BOLD CONDUCT

The most interesting of these is BOLD CONDUCT, who was successful on his sole start between the flags and looked set to take a hand in the finish before running out of steam when third in a Wincanton novice hurdle last time. The combination of this drop back in trip, better ground and switch to fences could all bring about significant improvement, and he makes the most appeal. Majestic Merlin is clear second choice ahead of Eros.

Tuesday 16:45 – GALLOPADE

GALLOPADE showed plenty of ability when easing clear under this rider at Fakenham on debut in November and the manner of that success suggests he is up to defying a penalty. Horizon Dove hails from a yard that has a good record in bumpers so must be respected, while the other penalised-winner Presenting Nelly will find this easier than the listed event she contested at Huntingdon.
