Horse Racing Tips: 8 on a plate at Uttoxeter on Saturday with an 11/2 play

The Racing Post's tipster likes the look of The Girl That Sang in the 16:08.

12:08 Moveit Like Minnie

Handicap debutant MOVEIT LIKE MINNIE looks interesting back on forecast good ground and is taken to add to his bumper wins. The consistent mares Auditoria (second choice) and Subway Surf are obvious dangers, along with recent Fakenham winner Good Impression.

12:38 Arizona Cardinal

Preference is for ARIZONA CARDINAL, who was in contention when pulled up sharply at Doncaster and his previous Warwick third is right up there with the best hurdle form on offer. Charlie’s Glance is the clear danger, though he does have an odds-on defeat on his scorecard and he again performed a little beneath expectations only last week at Taunton. Five Bar Brian is talented but evidently fragile.

13:13 Drenagh

Not the strongest of maiden hurdles and DRENAGH may be able to get off the mark after several creditable efforts in defeat. Benign Dictator, who won a bumper here on good ground, will be a big danger if showing an aptitude for hurdling, while a market move for Colin Tizzard’s newcomer Western Baron would be significant.

13:48 Keep Rolling (NAP)

If reproducing his second behind a well-handicapped rival here in December then KEEP ROLLING (nap) has a massive chance. He hasn’t always raced so keenly as at Exeter last time, which ultimately came at a cost on the heavy ground. Raecius Felix is handicapped to win again and could be the danger in first-time cheekpieces. Poldark Cross also has claims.

14:22 Stormy Flight

Mackelduff (second choice) and Wicked West bring very solid claims to the table at this level but STORMY FLIGHT is a well-handicapped C&D winner who wasn’t to blame when unseating on his recent return to hurdling. Here Comes Henry will almost certainly need more than at Fakenham.

14:57 Found On

Pretty good cases can be made for most of these but perhaps the answer will be FOUND ON, who ran considerably better than her eventual 21l defeat might suggest on her recent chasing debut and ought to benefit from today’s drop back in trip. Precious Eleanor, runner-up in all four chases, is second choice but Burrows Diamond and Graces Order both ran very well when last in action, while Emmas Joy will appreciate today’s drop in grade.

15:33 Bubbles Of Gold

The most interesting runner is arguably BUBBLES OF GOLD, who impressed on his Irish point debut in 2018 and is well handicapped if judged on his good-ground maiden hurdle win in 2019. Olly Murphy’s 9yo returned from a mammoth absence with an underwhelming hurdle run last month but the ground was heavy that day and, with the cheekpieces now refitted, he can start to make up for lost time. Young Offender is feared most.

16:08 The Girl That Sang

We haven’t seen THE GIRL THAT SANG since autumn 2020 and her career strike-rate is 0-13 but she runs off a career-low mark here and, given Fergal O’Brien’s prowess with new recruits, she might be worth chancing. Doireann will be dangerous if a recent piece of heavy-ground form can be reproduced on today’s quicker surface, while the market should help to sort the unexposed ones into a pecking order.
