The former is open to further progress on this surface, while the latter warrants respect under a penalty for Monday’s win. Shuv H’Penny King (third choice) could go well off a workable mark and Sycamore may improve back over 1m.

The vote goes to KING OF YORK, who went very close in a similar event here 11 days ago and has a good chance off the same mark. Symbol Of Light is feared most, ahead of Altraif. The other two runners can’t be dismissed.
13:55 – Shin Saw Gyi
Quite an open maiden on the figures and some of the runners tie in with each other on clashes this winter. However, SHIN SAW GYI has the most attractive profile as she made a promising debut two weeks ago and looks likely to progress. Second choice is Tidewell who showed improved form switched to AW last time. Nickleby has a good chance on his best 2yo effort, while the consistent Whiteandblue should be thereabouts again.
14:25 – Zarzyni
Topweight ZARZYNI (nap) has solid claims back up in distance and is taken to record his second win since joining David Barron. Lightly raced Tommy De Vito is feared most, ahead of the Mick Appleby-trained duo Mohareb and Nigel Nott.

The most obvious players are Toptime, Inclement Weather and Steelriver who filled the first three places in a similar event over C&D 16 days ago. However, an interesting alternative is EYE OF THE WATER who drops back in class off a handy mark and may be ready to strike on this second run after wind surgery. Inclement Weather (second choice) may well build on her reappearance effort and reverse placings with Toptime, who is respected all the same.
15:25 – Bernard Spierpoint
A 5lb penalty may not stop BERNARD SPIERPOINT from maintaining his unbeaten record over 5f. He’s open to further progress at this trip and taken to complete a four-timer. Obvious dangers are Lethal Angel (second choice) and Cometh The Man, who ran respectably behind the selection here nine days ago. Miss Seafire and Cool Spirit are also on the shortlist.
16:00 – Eagle One
Something has evidently clicked with Percy Willis but he does have another penalty in this higher grade and he’s taken on with EAGLE ONE, who has been in good form for his new yard and he bumped into an improver last time. The New Marwan can also have a say.
