12:40 – Real Armani
If Not For Dylan arrives on a high after winning over 2m4f at Ayr and there can be optimism he will see out today’s trip, having been placed in 3m points. However, preference is for REAL ARMANI, who has a consistent profile and whose stamina is guaranteed. C&D winner Trimmers Lane is an interesting contender now back over fences, while Bring The Action has a race in him but needs to prove he stays this far.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
13:10 – Message Personnel
Warwick winner Graystone looked very unlucky not to add to his tally at Taunton last month and is unlikely to go down without a fight but MESSAGE PERSONNEL held his own in a strong race at Cheltenham on his British debut and gets the vote. Useful Flat-racer Fleurman is a very interesting recruit for Olly Murphy and will be feared if strong in the betting.
13:45 – Walk In My Shoes
It’s easy to make a strong case for Rock Of Star, who won on his recent handicap debut and is 4lb well in under a penalty here. However, an interesting alternative is WALK IN MY SHOES, who makes her handicap debut after two very encouraging runs towards the end of last year. Son Of The Somme and Annies Prayer should also go well, while Craggaknock is a more speculative option to consider.
14:15 – Mr Whipped
Buster Valentine finished just ahead of MR WHIPPED when second in a very similar race to this over C&D on Boxing Day but Brian Ellison’s 9yo only faded out of contention from the final fence and, now 2lb better off with his old rival, might be the answer this time. Realm Keeper struck form for Venetia Williams last March and will be dangerous if on song after his layoff.

14:45 – Barnabas Collins
Limetree Boy holds leading claims judged on his debut third behind Hillcrest at Aintree in November, but confidence in his chance is dented by a lesser subsequent performance at Warwick. BARNABAS COLLINS needs to improve for his hurdle debut run at Sedgefield on Boxing Day but there can be plenty of optimism in that regard, as he shaped with promise before weakening on his first start back from an absence, and the form of his bumper win at Carlisle in November 2020 has worked out well. Newcastle winner Lupus Regem is second choice, while bumper winner Fringill Dike is an interesting hurdling newcomer.
15:15 – Sholokjack
It didn’t look a bad maiden hurdle that SHOLOKJACK won at Leicester with a bit up his sleeve and the fact he was strong in the market bodes well. He could be up to defying the penalty, with Where’s Hector and Rossbeigh Strand feared most in that order of preference.

15:45 – Spot On Soph
This is a rise in class for SPOT ON SOPH (nap) but she patently failed to stay 3m1f last time and looks well handicapped. Wheesht and Maid O’Malley have claims on their recent seconds but Marta Des Mottes could be the danger, as her hurdle form reads well and she was jumping soundly until unseating mid-race on her chase debut at Newcastle.
16:17 – Bird On The Wire
The Donald McCain-trained BIRD ON THE WIRE did it nicely when back up to 3m at Doncaster recently and this unexposed stayer can defy a 5lb rise. Blended Stealth and Your Place are bred to appreciate today’s increase in distance, with the last-named feared most. Malinas Island, Askgarmor and Ribeye arrive in good form, while East Harlem could leave November’s reappearance run well behind.
