It’s a three-day bonanza on ITV Racing which gets underway on Friday afternoon, with action from Lingfield and Market Rasen taking us into the weekend. There’s also some quality All-Weather racing at Southwell to get our teeth stuck into.
We’re on the hunt for winners and we’ve pulled Mick Fitzgerald, Matt Chapman, Jason Weaver, trader extraordinaire Frank Hickey and racing boffins Timeform together to give us their tasty tips.
Looked very good when winning at Chelmsford last time and it finally looks like it’s all coming together for this steady improver, The 5lb penalty he got for winning shouldn’t worry him too much as he steps onto this track for the first time. He’s a hold-up performer which will also suit as the riders start to settle into a rhythm on this new Tapeta surface. Expect Dubai Emperor to be played very late in the straight and maintain the hot run of the David Simcock stable.
Frero Banbou has some really good form that ties in with Editeur Du Gite and his run when third to him at Cheltenham last time looks promising. Trainer Venetia Williams’ recent strike is an added bonus. Of the others, Eclair D’ainay won very nicely at Wetherby and has no worries about the ground. Dan Skelton could have a busy few days at Lingfield as he seems to have targeted this valuable meeting with some of his string.

A conditions hurdle over 2m7f. This is not a gimme for ON THE BLIND SIDE at the age of ten but if you ignore his last run he really should be good enough for Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville. Remember he’s only just got double digits agewise and his second to Thomas Darby at Newbury a few runs ago would be good enough I would think.

I’m siding with Hidden Beauty. I thought she was very impressive at Ffos Las in November on soft ground. She was value for a lot further than she won by. She won without getting a crack of the whip. Hidden Beauty is a very nice horse so I’m pretty confident.
It could be worth chancing METIER to build on his fourth in a strong handicap at Ascot before Christmas as he’s starting to look well handicapped on his Tolworth form of last season. He stepped up considerably on his return run at Sandown and he will definitely be well suited by likely heavy ground. Irish-raiders Carrarea and Lucky Max likely have more to offer and are feared most ahead of Chti Balko.
